O Google continua a aperfeiçoar a sua tecnologia e criou uns óculos de realidade aumentada, ainda sem lançamento previsto no mercado.
Sebastian Thrun, diretor do laboratório Google X, que criou os óculos, fez uma demonstração de como eles podem ser usados para fotografar e partilhar imagens em redes sociais durante uma entrevista a uma cadeia televisiva norte-americana. O pai deste novo gadget afirmou durante a entrevista “que a maioria das pessoas fica atraída pelos recursos de realidade aumentada. Mas, para o Google, esse não é o aspecto mais importante. A experiência convincente é a de partilhar coisas”.
A demonstração aconteceu durante a entrevista dada ao apresentador de televisão Charlie Rose. Sebastian fotografou Rose com a câmara embutida nos óculos e publicou a fotografia na rede social Google+.
Quanto ao lançamento dos óculos, que mostram informações numa tela acima do campo de visão, num esquema de realidade aumentada, há quem especule que é ainda este ano. Este dispositivo permite ainda, com o recurso a um smartphone, enviar e receber mensagens, telefonar e obter informações da internet. Ele reconhece comandos de voz e alguns gestos feitos com a cabeça.
